Wineries are the key component of the book
Maximize the benefits of our visit! It’s very important to provide us with plenty of time on your property and involve us in all your experiences and activities. This is how we will best capture and present to our readers everything you have to offer.
In Search of Excellence
We are in search of excellent wines, interesting winemakers, unique and interesting activities in and around the winery, food and wine pairings, and other wine-lifestyle opportunities that make for excellent stories and spectacular photography.
We are looking for interesting activities for our readers to engage in at your winery – beyond the simple tour and quick wine tasting. Our schedule should includes no more than one or two wineries per day, allowing us time to get to know you and experience first-hand what we will be recommending. This also permits for the time and opportunity needed to capture great photographs of your property to publish. What this means is that you have our undivided attention, allowing you to pull out all the stops to show us everything great about you and what you have to offer.
Examples of A Quality Visit
- Lunch or dinner with your winemaker: It is important to meet and hear from your winemaker (oenologist, agronomist, technical director) since good story ideas always spring from our interesting conversations with the people who makes the product we all love so much – wine.
- Participation in your vineyard and winery activities (pruning, bud breaking, flowering, leaf thinning, green harvesting, monitoring fruit ripeness, harvesting, sorting, crushing, vinifying, barrel tasting, blending, aging, bottling, etc.). These all make for fascinating stories and interesting photographs.
- Participation in your tourism activities is critical. Visitors love participating in special or uncommon activities such as unique tours, special tastings (verticals, older vintages, tasting from barrels, food pairings, etc.), horseback riding in the vineyards, blending workshops, educational programs with winemakers and sommeliers, culinary activities, blind tastings, vineyard walks, and winery activities.
- Food and Wine pairings are one of the best things you can do. Food needs wine, and wine needs food. This perfect marriage leads to great photography and material for the book. And our readers love food and wine pairing experiences.
- Scheduling plenty time on your property is crucial for obtaining the best material to represent your winery. Spectacular photography takes time and thought, so the ability to spend time in the vineyards, winery and around the property is fruitful.
Accommodations At A Winery
If you have accommodations, this is a bonus. Our readers love to stay overnight in wineries, vineyards and any unique accommodation. And the more nights we are able to spend with you, the more opportunities we will have to capture everything you have to offer. Two to three nights gives us one or two full days to understand the true essence of who you are and what you have to offer, which in turn allows us to recommend to our readers the quality experiences you offer (in your winery, tastings, experiences as well as the accommodations). See more in our accommodations section.
Take a look at these two photographs
This is a château with accommodations next to a winery. The left photo was taken on upon arrival. The right photo was taken on the third day. The quality of the second photo could not have happened if we didn’t spend time at this property. If we only had one night here, we would never had the opportunity Mother Nature gave us to capture this beautiful photograph. More time allows for opportunities for better compositions
